Alliance Bank accelerates payment relief to individuals & SMEs

Press Release

Bank also focusing on helping clients emerge stronger post-pandemic

Kuala Lumpur, 8 July 2021 - Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (“Alliance Bank” or the “Bank”) reiterates its commitment to support individuals and businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with offers of moratorium or 50% reduction in instalments for six months, in line with the PEMULIH aid package announced by the government. The Bank will not compound interest or profit during the 6-month moratorium or payment relief period.

“We understand that individuals and businesses are facing financial stress, and we want to help. In addition to the standard payment relief packages (of 6-month moratorium or 50% reduction of instalments), customers can customise their payment relief packages,” said Mr Joel Kornreich, Group Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Bank.

There will be no impact on customers’ Central Credit Reference Information System (“CCRIS”) record if they apply for the Bank’s Payment Relief Assistance package before 31 December 2021.

The Bank has introduced innovative ways for individuals and businesses to take up the payment relief assistance easily. Customers can fill up the e-form on its website, use its official WhatsApp channel or call the Contact Centre for assistance. “We urge our customers to contact us as soon as possible to get the help they need,” said Mr Kornreich.

The Bank is also focused on helping its SME clients emerge stronger post-pandemic. “Our non-financial solutions such as BizSmart® Solution and the Halal in One programme help businesses not only to stay resilient, but to reposition themselves for higher growth as the economy improves,” said Mr Kornreich.

Individuals and SME business owners interested in taking up a payment relief package may visit www.alliancebank.com.my, WhatsApp the Bank (by scanning the QR code below) or call its Contact Centre at 03-5516 9988.
