Updates Terms & Conditions for Deposits and Foreign Currency Account (For Individual Customer)

Clause no. New/Update/Remove Clause for Alliance Bank Deposits Accounts (Current Account, Savings Account and Fixed Deposit)

1.1.1(a)

Updated

The following clauses have been updated:
Current Account

Current Account is available for individuals (Malaysian citizens, permanent residents and foreigners) who have attained the age of at least eighteen (18) years and are of sound mind are eligible to open an account in their personal name.

Removed

AllianceSave Account
No companies, partnerships, associations and clubs are allowed to open an AllianceSave Account.
1.1.4(b) Removed Alliance SavePlus Account No companies, partnerships, associations, societies, unions or clubs are allowed to open an Alliance SavePlus Account
1.1.5(b) Removed Alliance Hybrid Account/Alliance Elite Account No companies, partnerships, associations and clubs are allowed to open an Alliance Hybrid/Alliance Elite Account.
1.3.1(a) Updated Fixed Deposit Account
Fixed Deposit Account is available for individuals.
1.3.2(a) Removed Alliance FD Gold Corporate customers such as companies, including sole proprietor, partnership, clubs/associations/societies, trustees, government bodies are not allowed to open this account.
3.2 Updated External Account Any unverified payment, receipt or transfer into or from an external account are limited to RM10,000 per transaction.
3.3 Updated No limit shall apply for the following transactions
(i) Cash withdrawal performed over the counter.
(ii) transfer between External Account of the same account holder
(iii) EA of consulate, high commission, or embassy.
(iv) Participants of My Second Home Programme.
(v) Individual working or studying in Malaysia (including spouse and parent).
3.4 Updated The Bank has the right to decline or further request for information or supporting documents to verify the needs to open the External Account and in perfecting any transaction from or into External Account.
3.5 Removed Any joint account open with non-resident will fall under External Account except account opens jointly between husband and wife.
20.1.1(b) Updated Savings Passbook Effective 1st February 2022, a Statement of Account setting out all the transactions on the Basic Savings account without Passbook is available electronically once a month via allianceonline for allianceonline user.
20.1.1(c) Updated You are advised to check the entries in the Statement of Account and report immediately to the Bank in writing if any error is found therein. In the absence of any objection within fourteen (14) days from the date of the Statement of Account, all entries therein are correct. The Bank reserves the right to make corrections as and when necessary if the error is discovered by the Bank.
25.1(c) Updated Renewal & Withdrawal When the Bank has agreed to allow a Fixed Deposit/Alliance FD Gold to be withdrawn by you without the submission of the physical Fixed Deposit/Alliance FDGold receipt or certificate to the Bank, the physical Fixed Deposit/Alliance FDGold receipt or certificate issued earlier by the Bank shall be deemed null and void thereafter and the continued retention of the physical Fixed Deposit/Alliance FDGold receipt or certificate does not grant any rights to you
25.1(d) Updated The physical Fixed Deposit/Alliance FDGold receipt/certificate is not evidence that the Fixed Deposit/Alliance FDGold is still subsisting, and shall not by itself constitute sufficient evidence to rebut any record with the Bank indicating that the Fixed Deposit/Alliance FDGold has been uplifted.
25.1(e) Updated The records available with the Bank as to the withdrawal of the Fixed Deposit/Alliance FDGold by you shall be final, conclusive and binding on you.
25.1(j) Removed Renewals or withdrawals of a Fixed Deposit by a company at the Bank’s branch must be supported by a letter of instruction signed by the authorised signatory(ies) of the company. Such letter of instruction shall include authorisation for a third party if the renewal or withdrawal transaction is done by a third party at the branch.
27.2 Updated For Alliance My eSaving Account and Basic Savings Account without Passbook
a) A Statement of Account setting out all the transactions on the account will be made available electronically once a month via allianceonline for allianceonline user
b) You are advised to check the entries in the Statement of Account and report immediately to the Bank in writing if any error is found therein. In the absence of any objection within fourteen (14) days from the date of the Statement of Account, all entries therein are correct. The Bank reserves the right to make corrections as and when necessary if the error is discovered by the Bank.
c) The account transactions history for a period of up to 180 days can be viewed and downloaded in a form of statement via allianceonline.
Clause no. New/Update/Remove Clause for  Alliance Bank Foreign Currency Accounts (Current Account and Fixed Deposit)
   

The following clauses have been updated:

1.1 Updated General Foreign Currency Account is available for Malaysian individuals aged eighteen (18) years and above, including permanent residents and foreigners with valid identity documents. The customer agrees that in addition and without prejudice to any of the Terms and Conditions herein, where applicable, the Terms and Conditions herein shall be governed by and be subjected to any rules, regulations and guidelines issued from time to time by Bank Negara Malaysia, the Association of Banks in Malaysia and any other relevant regulatory bodies. This Foreign Currency Account shall be designated as either Trade Foreign Currency Account (TFCA) or Investment Foreign Currency Account (IFCA) based on the purpose of opening the account.

2.4(j)

Foreign Currency Fixed Deposit (FCFD) When the Bank has agreed to allow a FCFD to be withdrawn by you without the submission of the physical FCFD receipt or certificate to the Bank, the physical FCFD receipt or certificate issued earlier by the Bank shall be deemed null and void thereafter and retention the continued of the physical FCFD receipt or certificate does not grant any rights to you.
2.4(k) Updated The physical FCFD receipt is not evidence that the FCFD is still subsisting, and shall not by itself constitute sufficient evidence to rebut any records with the Bank indicating that the FCFD has been uplifted.
2.4(i) Updated The records available with the Bank as to the withdrawal of the FCFD by you shall be final, conclusive and binding on you.
2.4(n) Removed Renewal or withdrawal of a FCFD by a company at ABMB’s branch must be supported by a letter of instruction signed by the authorised signatory(ies) of the company. Such letter of instruction shall include authorisation for a third party if the renewal or withdrawal transaction is done by a third party at the branch.

Joint Account Customers are allowed to open a joint account with the following conditions:
 
a) A Resident Individual is allowed to open jointly with—
(i) another Resident Individual; or
(ii) a Non-Resident Individual who is his Immediate Family Member.
b) A Non-Resident is allowed to open jointly with—
(i) another Non-Resident; or
(ii) a Resident Individual who is his Immediate Family Member.
