Held in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2023, Alliance Bank collaborated with Women of Will (WOW) and Libresse to organise a three-day initiative at five selected People Housing Project (PPR) residences in Klang Valley. The programme featured a Women’s Health Talk programme aimed at raising awareness of women’s reproductive health. This initiative succeeded in reaching out to 350 women.
During this initiative, participants received grocery items and food worth RM150 each, which would benefit over 1,700 family members. Alliance Bank also purchased cookies from WOW’s Community Kitchen to be distributed as part of the care packs for the attendees. The proceeds from the purchase are used to help alleviate the financial burden of WOW beneficiaries comprising disadvantaged single mothers, female breadwinners and their children.

“In keeping true to the community bank spirit, we want to forge closer ties with the local communities in which we operate to help us better understand and serve their needs. Reflecting the Bank’s mission of Building Alliances to Improve Lives, we hope that our collaboration with like-minded partners helps to lighten the burden of these struggling families, while also providing them with the knowledge they need to take better care of their reproductive health. We are privileged to be able to empower women, who are the pillar of families and significant contributors to society, through this meaningful initiative with WOW and Libresse,” said En. Rizal IL-Ehzan bin Fadil Azim, Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Islamic Bank.
“We are excited to once again partner Alliance Bank to provide the underserved women whom WOW works with the opportunity to develop sustainable businesses that will ultimately generate additional income and help them become more financially independent,” said Datin Wira Goh Suet Lan, Founder and President of Women Of Will (WOW). Libresse’s consumer research showed that two in three women find it difficult to ask questions or talk openly about topics related to reproductive health. “We are happy that this collaboration with Alliance Bank allowed us to further engage with the local communities to raise awareness, normalise conversations and close knowledge gap about women’s reproductive health,” said Cheryl Wang, Marketing Manager for Feminine Care, Vinda Malaysia.
WOW is a non-profit organisation supporting disadvantaged women in Malaysia prioritising single mothers and female breadwinners, while Libresse is a leading feminine protection brand.
